Easy Hall is unique in Barbados and the Caribbean. Traditional, understated elegance of exquisite taste, it incorporates the most spectacular garden in an architecturally historical setting.

The property has been completely remodelled and designed to protect the architectural integrity of the entire site whilst incorporating present day standards of the highest quality.

These standards have been applied throughout the decade long restoration and remodelling project with peerless construction standards using (for example) Vermont slate, with all fastenings of stainless, copper or brass throughout, and with services back-up systems and site wide drainage and waste processing second to none.

The plantation house and property is protected by an impressive six foot coral wall further protected by bougainvillea. Among five, there are two main gated entrances, each leading to separate unconnected entry yards. One gate provides vehicular and pedestrian access to the main house via coral paved driveway, while the second opens to another coral drive system to access a double garage within the gate house which houses, among others, the estate office, laundry, storage, records and fresh rainwater storage between ground and basement levels. Separate living quarters for staff or guests occupy the upper level.

Accommodation

The main residence is on a single level and utilises a section of the basement. The principal entrance of the house is through Palladian arches and a sunrise staircase into a marble floor entrance foyer. Mahogany louvered doors lead from the foyer into a double reception room with sitting and dining areas and beyond to the kitchen, study and bedroom accommodation. All woodwork and masonry - from basic trusses and roof systems and structural elements, to finely finished study furniture in mahogany and purple heart in the Great House, to the huge plantation kitchen table and modern chopping block work centre in Canadian maple, with all doors, windows, transoms and surrounds in mahogany, to the tunnel that leads to the top of the jungled hillside from the Great House - has been designed, manufactured and installed at Easy Hall by the present staff of joiners and masons and others.

The Carriage Guest House is on two levels and serves as a guest cottage near to the main house, with reception room, kitchenette, unique child's playroom, 2 bedrooms and bathroom, additional sleeping alcove, upper and lower terraced sitting areas and separate air conditioned gym.

The Gate House provides spacious staff or guest residence on the upper floor, with an outside terrace and air conditioned accommodation on the ground floor and basement for the estate office and information storage.

Gardens and Grounds

The outstanding tropical gardens at Easy Hall support a wide variety of indigenous and exotic flora. Numerous coral stone pathways provide access around the garden including the centrally located gazebo and a small ornamental pond creates the impression of a Japanese garden. Beyond the pond is an area of garden given over to natural regeneration jungle, which is also the location of the beehives. The Easy Hall designed and built covered swing seat is strategically located for multiple views of jungle, pond, orchard and rolling countryside.
